For Microsoft Resellers, The Times They Are a'Changing?
Two stories coming out of Microsoft point to an evolving relationship the company seems to be trying to create with its partners. First this news from Infoworld
Microsoft Corp. aims to add speech-enabling technology to a future version of its Exchange Server as part of its unified messaging strategy, a move that could potentially compete with its third-party ISV (independent software vendor) partners.
The second, from an eWeek report which can be seen in its entirety here. It's about Microsoft's purchase of more adapters from iWay.
"Microsoft will now be able to provide a complete solution that involves popular applications and middleware integration without relying on third parties for sales, support, or implementation," said John Senor, president of iWay, in a statement. "They are still relying on iWay for additional, less complicated adapters. … We expect to expand our adapter offerings for .Net in the future."
